And in case you missed them last night, tonight is another great chance for Europe. The forecast is not quite as good as yesterday's crazyness, but it should still reach down to mid latitudes once darkness starts.

@stim3on Beautiful pics. What a phenomenon. Around what time should one head outdoors to see this? I'm in Cologne and fear light pollution will obscure everything.

@tobie1 you'll want to wait until astronomical twilight starts which is around 22:43 in Cologne.
timeanddate.com/sun/germany/co

Unobstructed Northern horizon is important and the less light pollution in that direction the better.
It might be worth driving a little outside the city if you can manage.
