@stim3on Beautiful pics. What a phenomenon. Around what time should one head outdoors to see this? I'm in Cologne and fear light pollution will obscure everything.

@tobie1 you'll want to wait until astronomical twilight starts which is around 22:43 in Cologne.

Unobstructed Northern horizon is important and the less light pollution in that direction the better.
It might be worth driving a little outside the city if you can manage.
