@AAKL@Edent I’d still be tempted to just say I’m calling the number on the back of my card for security purposes. Hang up and call. Though it does seem like that would be a little trickier to fake than a text/email alert.
@lionel@Edent@AAKL Except that the PSTN is insecure garbage, and the scammer knows the customer phone number, because they call it, so they will spoof that number to the bank, and spoof the bank's number to the customer. The telecom has always been a weak link in security.
@adamrice@AAKL@Edent My bank let me choose 'email me every time there is any change to my account.' It's mildly annoying because I get an alert every time some interest is added. BUT! I got one alert about some different activity. A hacker had gotten into the account and had set up something to have money transferred to another bank. I called it in, it got fixed before money could be moved. And shortly after the bank improved their website security (I hear I wasn't the only one hacked around that time). So glad I signed up for that service -- it should be automatic for everyone.

@AAKL that's a genuine notification from the legitimate Chase app.
