 @Gargron This was a good video. I certainly hope to see more creativity and ingenuity from our collective output. But I'm not sure if the "whatever" approach to all that isn't enticing enough to overshadow our best work. Spotify is a great example for that: I love music. I used to compose and perform it religiously, but today (now that my priorities have shifted), I find myself hitting the "DJ" button more and more. I find it hard to stay optimistic on this topic, unfortunately. |
@Gargron Have you ever played around with Band-In-A-Box? It can solo on any instrument in any style. You can click in some chords and tell it to do a trumpet solo in the style of Miles Davis, and it will produce something that sounds like Miles Davis, at least for a while. I haven't fooled around with it for many years, but I have heard tracks it produced that fooled musicians. It tends to fill all the available space and gets boring after a while because it is not saying anything.
