@davidho We probably should start a federal agency to make rules for highway safety. @davidho If it was a newer truck, at least it would have ADAS, which would help seeing short things. @mzedp @davidho I saw the stereotype the last time I went for a grocery pickup. The store has a row of parking spaces for those who ordered on line. @michaelgemar@mstdn.ca @davidho@mastodon.world There are. People just like to scream nonsense. @c0debabe @DeliaChristina @davidho Tbh the ones around here aren’t stopping whether they see a person or not. Back when I still rode my bike on the streets I had a few times they tried to whack me with the mirrors when they went by, or coal-rolled me. I have a very hard time being objective about big pickups anymore. I don't understand why trucks need to be this big on residential streets just to run errands. Chiquita paid paramilitary armies who massacred peasants and labor union activists in Colombia. @davidho Simple, we just need to hand out those orange flags that dune buggies use to all pedestrians! @davidho Yeah, I've been seeing this, and I was walking down the street, and at I think 5'8" I was... "Man I can barely have my chin at the front of the hood... @davidho I'm 5'2" (157 cm) and apparently guaranteed to be a speed bump if I ever encounter one of these things |
@davidho I'm only 5'8" (ish!), so I'd not even be noticed! Nor would my car, come to that.
