We are looking for a new member for our #Mastodon core team to work with @Gargron, @renchap and @Claire on building the Mastodon #backend and web app!

This is a #remote #fulltime position and requires an overlap with the CET timezone.

Ideally:

- You are a #Ruby expert
- With prior experience in maintaining #opensource projects
- Prior knowledge of #ActivityPub is a big plus!

@nilsding well it would be worth a shot I think. Maybe you get declined and then you have an updated CV and know that you at least tried.

@MastodonEngineering @Gargron @renchap @Claire despite all the hype about full stack I have very rarely, if ever, bumped into someone who is truly good at frontend and backend frameworks and techs. I wonder if you should consider splitting those roles? (Not for me, I might add, but I’d struggle to come up with anyone I could honestly recommend for both).

@Setok the position is for a strong backend person, as I hope is clear in the description. But being a very small team (and no budget yet for anotjer hire) doing some frontend work will probably be needed. If we get enough donations I would be very happy to open up a frontend dev position
