@ismh it got worse. just made me a standard user straight out of the gate. along with the account i made in single user mode. gonna nuke the drive and try again i guess??

@samhenrigold You could enable the root user, update one to admin, then turn root off.

@ismh thanks for the help!! 🤝 Ended up starting fresh and got an admin account. In the original install, I was monkeying around with the console and seeing what the file system looked like via the save panel, that might have messed up some permissions?
