@dgar is this a bass-piano? C#–C#–C#–Silence…

Michael

@dgar or deep sweeping 90 minute ambient works

@dgar I could be wrong but isn't every successful #popsong since the invention of #popmusic rather simple?

I honestly don't think that's a bad thing. Real creativity results from restriction. Take a look at Koji Kondo for example. The hardware restrictions of his time resulted in awesome pieces of art that still hold up to this day.

@TheGymNerd
We have enough data to show that from The Beatles to Bieber, from Bob Dylan to Britney Spears, from Led Zeppelin to Lady Gaga, Pop music, on the whole, has become less melodic, less experimental, and less varied. There’s always exceptions, but if we stick to “Pop music” - music that is popular - like what we’d call Top 40, then we have the data.

@dgar ok so it's not that much about the simplicity and more about "just sounding the same". I can definitely agree to this.

@dgar

I was just explaining to my spouse how recognizable The Chainsmokers’ songs are because of how very simple their melodies are in the drop.

mschomm

@dgar A significant upgrade compared to David Guetta's piano.

The1goit #RedInstead

@dgar reminds me of something FL studio did April fools day two years ago.

@dgar facts. Though, it will also require an auto tune button as well.😝

Der Geist aus dem Gerät

@dgar More then enough for Pentatonic. Nobody hears more....

@dgar it's a trick; using the pitch wheel, one can create microtonal masterworks that go beyond basic western music theory.
