We want to clarify some recent allegations regarding Threads hiding posts containing "pixelfed" Several users pointed out they were unable to reproduce this, leading us to believe it was a glitch. We're happy to see Threads open up federation, and look forward to working together to build a better fediverse. 8 comments

@pixelfed The #Fediverse will get better with Threads? I have my big doubts. Is there a valid argument for this? Or do you mean only the size - "big" dosen't mean "good".

Metas goal is to control the fediverse... it always has been. They'll integrate, grow their userbase until it's the largest one or close to it. Then they start making changes, brining in updates that make it harder for other instances to interoperate with them unless they use their code/updates. Those that refuse will be isolated in the hope that instances will disappear if people leave them. Meta think they're entitled to everything. Your data, privacy, & eyeballs. Block now

@pixelfed By sheer weight of numbers, Threads will come to dominate and dictate. As much as federation is supposed to be a cooperative thing, when you cooperate with dictators you lose your agency.

P.S - We know threads federation isn't for everyone
If your Pixelfed server hasn't blocked threads, you can use a domain block to block them yourself by going to the Settings -> Privacy and Domain Blocks page!
