Oh noes. "Young people becoming less happy than older generations, research shows"

There's several parts where they imply its social media that's making under 30s less happy, but eventually hit on this list: impact of rising social media use, income inequalities, the housing crisis, and fears about war and climate change

So if you are stressed and unhappy, whats you're reasons? (I added a few more ideas of causes of unhappiness to try and capture stresses I see on the fediverse).

I'm irritated by the press blaming "social media" for teens & young adults being depressed.

Compared to all the other stresses people are facing these days social media has the most options for being controlled.

People are probably using social media so much because everything else sucks so bad.

I think many people might prefer in person socializing, but there's very few cheap places you can and hang out with others. (Especially for teens, but public space is rare for everyone)
