I've learned my lesson with the absurd volume of rain we got last summer so I'm growing more things in containers this year, particularly fruit. Aside from anything else, I figure that going vertical is a more effective use of the limited space I have.

I wish I saved more seeds from last year. I did save some beefsteak tomato seeds though; they've had a substantially better germination rate than anything I've bought from the shop, so that's a pretty clear indication that saving seeds is not only cheaper but also more practical.

Also happy to see that last year's food waste has become this year's compost. Not the best compost, granted, but it's good enough to bury and give the beds a decent nutrient boost.
