I've learned my lesson with the absurd volume of rain we got last summer so I'm growing more things in containers this year, particularly fruit. Aside from anything else, I figure that going vertical is a more effective use of the limited space I have.
I wish I saved more seeds from last year. I did save some beefsteak tomato seeds though; they've had a substantially better germination rate than anything I've bought from the shop, so that's a pretty clear indication that saving seeds is not only cheaper but also more practical.
