@ErikUden That's not what fedidb.org says. Probably this bot also counts all the accounts and servers that have been long deleted as well. Not number of current accounts.
Also, what matters the most is number of active users, which is just about 1m.

@ErikUden but it's probably overblown. It looks like the Account counted again servers with artificial accounts and might have removed those servers.

@ErikUden I made around 50 accounts to represent RSS feed in the mastodon. I think we should count them as unique accounts since they are representing some websites or YouTube channels.
I am using @birb for it.

@ErikUden Is this thing accurate now? It didn't used to be. There's a json file on the join.mastodon website with official data - wonder how close that is to 15 mil. (Don't get me wrong, I'd like to see it growing -- it's just risky when stats aren't reliable because it makes it so easy for detractors to shoot claims down and damage credibility.)
