"Illegal" isn't really a meaningful word. An action might be criminal, which means you can go to jail, or actionable, which means you can sue them, or prohibited by regulation, which means you can go to some regulatory body and complain.

If this were anything, it would be the last, which isn't "illegal" because no law is involved.

But probably there is no rule preventing this evil. 😕
