@Gargron maybe an option to set the post language for an individual post would also be a good option? Because without it the the filter by language currently is only half as useful as it could be...

guedes :mastodon:

@Gargron Not only translate but also a way to see only the local timeline

unnerving duck

@Gargron Twitter has it and It's been super useful for me, it's much more convient than copying text to a translator manually.

@Gargron as long as the translating feature isn't automatic, so that I can choose when/ on which posts to use it, it's great

@Gargron On this topic, you might want to check out SimplyTranslate: simplytranslate.org

It has an API that supports several backends (Google, DeepL, LibreTranslate), and provides a layer of privacy for users.

@Gargron what I see in the timeline global/local, is a lot of publications with different languages, what I would like is for there to be a filter that separates those publications in their corresponding language, so that later in the search engine I can search for the language that interests me and see all posts in that language

@Gargron It is interesting, how the local/global timeline is composed, with publications in different languages, I do not want that to be modified, only that there is a filter option in which I can choose the language that interests me, to save time in finding a publication in my language
