Any recommendations for alternatives to WP that can be self hosted and as easy to install? I am frustrated with the path Automattic/Matt has choen to take.

@MichaelBishop @sass Don’t make yourself more problems than necessary. As long as you self-host, you will be fine with WP. Before you switch to another blog, let the situation develop further.

@frumble @MichaelBishop @sass Indeed! From my understanding, WP (the code) is separate from WP (the hosting company owned by Automattic) and is thus Still OK. I use neither but the details are bubbling up about it so it seems fine to be making no sudden moves.

Some of this may be misunderstandings due to Automattic being tight-lipped, but the Intelligence Community has an adage that you gauge an adversary’s capabilities, not their intentions, and Wordpress must now be classified as adversarial or untrusted software.

I’m happy I switched to Hugo 6 years ago.
