The dominance of DRMed streaming is going to erase so much information, culture and history as mergers, bankruptcies and various other reasons lead to things being wiped with no one outside the company holding copies. It didn't happen before because end users had physical copies.
Even worse is some streaming platforms quietly alter stuff without informing anyone, so you might listen to a song that sounds different and it's because the platform replaced it with another version without changing the description.
Don't want to get too 1984 about it but this situation is very Orwellian. Potential for abuse is huge.
