@Gargron@openscience That's right. Mastodon.social is like "the introduction to Mastodon". Many users register here, learn about fediverse, and decide to migrate to another server. But comparing Mastodon.social closing with facebook closing registrations and telling people going to Twitter makes no sense... Plus there's no effort from mastodon.social to make people know/learn about what the fediverse is and that joinmastodon exists.
