idk why this guide hasn't existed before and why I had to do this work but if you're shopping for TVs, here you go.

@lucanalin I'm between a Crystal NanoCell Mini-Quantum OLED and a Micro Neo UHD. Going to the store later today to compare the LG C3 and the Samsung S90C. They're basically the same price, it just comes down to if I want the absolute best picture quality to be Dolby Vision (LG) or HDR10+ (Samsung, slightly less advanced but brighter panel). I am! And if I'd happened across your very helpful toot a couple of weeks ago, it would have saved me a boatload of trouble, time & general frustration. But I'm saving it anyway, because I'll probably need a refresher the next time. So thanks for this! @samhenrigold @lucanalin I own a S90C and have no real regrets. If you care, there’s a lot more Dolby Vision content available than HDR10+ but I got a great deal on the S90C so decided DV wasn’t worth it. @samhenrigold if I were to change my 2019 Sony OLED TV nowadays, I think I’d look into (QMS) VRR so I don’t get blackouts at every YouTube ad (HDR+framerate matching on on Apple TV) @samhenrigold And backlight/ zone/ local/ mini/ dimming doesn't matter with OLED because the individual lights are coloured, is that correct? @samhenrigold this is my kind of information. I did the same thing years ago when comparing different brands and models of FPGAs. @samhenrigold unrelated but what app were these written in? I’m a heavy user of Typora for markdown to dos and notes but this looks pretty slick |
@samhenrigold and what TV have you bought?
