@samhenrigold “it looks better in the app!”

… and who’s fault is that?

Exa :calim:

@samhenrigold But their app doesn't have an adblocker and it can get more data for advertising 😉

Григорий Клюшников

Exa, oh their app totally does have an ad blocker. I block ads via DNS.

@samhenrigold makes me MENTAL esp when the app is just a website but worse

Felipe Bojorquez 🐁

@samhenrigold exactly! The worst is when I find places that say “This looks better on our app”. Like that is your fault bro.

VNKR

@samhenrigold This. But also I have Reddit app installed and if I click on that button it would open AppStore and not the app.

@samhenrigold

Especially since the app is really just an embedded web browser with better tracking.

@samhenrigold on the positive side, if you see this every time when you visit the site, it's a good thing. The browser you're using isn't keeping a hidden session for you and chances are good the web page thinks you are new.

@samhenrigold Looking forward to when they switch to thinly veiled threats. “Nice web browser you have there. Would be a shame if something happened to it.”

Geoff Coffey

@samhenrigold Same goes for all the apps that open web pages in the app.
