@neauoire I'm really not seeing any, is it only impacting certain users? Maybe you can make your account private until it's over?

@voxel the issue is that it doesn't impact just me, other members of the instance seems to be targetted by this, and I can't imagine that solution is to ask everyone on the instance to go private.

@neauoire @voxel I'm also not seeing much spam, but I was reading some posts from other administrators talking about specific instances to block, let me see if I can find those posts.

@icco @voxel I saw that post and I've blocked all those :) This morning it seems to be mostly on mastodon instances.

@voxel @neauoire based on current reports, it's affecting 4-5 ppl on our instance (im part of those affected). This is assuming others are blocking the accounts instead of reporting the spam. (edit, got that backward hehe)

@rek @voxel @neauoire I'm one of the folks affected, and am happy to go private till the wave subsides.

I feel very silly asking, but where exactly is the option to do so? I can't seem to find it. 😂

@helveticablanc @voxel @neauoire Don't think the account can be made private, not in the twitter sense, or at least I don't see how. You can make changes to make your account less visible, though.

A thing that might help is that you can block notifications from non-followers, or ppl you don't follow (in preferences>notifications).

@rek @voxel @neauoire Ahhh gotcha! So it doesn't really prevent spam as much as hides it! I'll try it out!
