It’s #SuperBowl season which can only mean that we must pay due homage to the glorious Athenian owl. Here the owl is surrounded by olive leaves that are putting on new growth. But this owl’s inquisitive eyes are what truly touch the soul 🧿 How superb is this owl? 12/10 Corinthian Myrtle Wreath ~ 330–250 BCE Myrtle was a symbol of the goddess Aphrodite. Although we can’t be entirely sure how this wreath was used, we can make some educated guesses based on the connection with Aphrodite.
