#inktober A Russian lady was detained after she wrote “Net v***e” (Net voyne/No to war) with chalk on asphalt. She was accused of discrediting the army and faced a large fine. A box of chalk was taken as evidence of an offense. She stated that her inscription meant “Net voble” (No to Caspian roach), since she “feels hostility to this type of fish.” The court noted that the police did not refute this statement, and dismissed the case. The judge also ordered to return the lady her box of chalk.
