I like the way most of them speak honestly. Humanity is out of time to screw around with euphemism etc. Also #WomanIsland should exist.

I never trust that people understand decentralization when I try to explain it, so I link to this. But they probably never read it. https://knightcolumbia.org/content/protocols-not-platforms-a-technological-approach-to-free-speech

I found a site that collects and displays block rationale for fedi servers. NAS posts are rejected by 157 servers: https://fba.ryona.agency/?domain=noagendasocial.com

@alex gleasonator.com is only up to 141. Gotta pump those numbers up. Those are rookie numbers.

lol poa.st is blocked by 305 servers. I thought I was going to be able to crown us kings of the fedi, but no. Poa.st dunked on NAS almost 2x at 305 blocks. Reminder for everyone out there: touch grass.

So let me get this straight. A deranged onliner petitions Cloudflare, a CDN and WAF, to drop kiwifarms.net. CF releases statement saying "no". Two days later someone (shareholders, board, payment gateways, etc.) sticks their hand up Matthew Prince's ass and operates him like a puppet to have Cloudflare fire kiwifarms.net as a customer. Two weeks later kiwifarms.net is hacked via a combination of vulnerabilities that Cloudflare's WAF /may/ have previously been mitigating. Wow. |
@eriner
So how has this just happened in the last couple of months....Can we clean it up? Or is it just memes.....seems the story has changed
@eriner you've been very reasonable and mature through all of this. Whatever else is going on, there are a lot of people who value what you've made for us bigly โค๏ธ
@eriner There's something to a brand having a dedicated instance with only employees having accounts. Like a company email address works.
Federation means that fan instances can emerge and follow the brand instance and each other. The brand instance can then choose what content it boosts without having to concern itself with the behaviour of fan instances.
@CSB 's argument about the impact on the local timeline needs ๐ค. Boosted posts appear on the booster's timeline. That's the local fix.
