Fulltime freelance provider of outreach and enhancement in maths ... I talk a lot. About maths. I talk about other stuff too, like ballroom dancing, juggling, unicycling, education, engineering, software, and "other things". But mostly about maths. There is nothing so useless as doing efficiently that which should not be done at all. -- Peter Drucker Seems to me that useless isn't the right word. The Nazis were very efficient at murdering Jews, but they should not have been doing it at all, and I would not say that is merely 'useless'. That's something far worse than useless. Seen on Twitter: Any English teacher who uses 'they/them' as a singular pronoun should lose their teaching license. (Think about it ... it may take a moment) @ColinTheMathmo@mathstodon.xyz Oh no, next they'll go after Singular "we" and ban all our math books! @ColinTheMathmo Because using 'they/them' for the singular is very strange indeed. Especially for non-native. |
