 @unfa This is awesome to see. FOSS and accessibility should have a lot more overlap than they currently do, so tools like this are fantastic!  @unfa I couldn't figure out if the training data for the model was ethically sourced or not. I hope so. Rocket.Chat is trying to trick us. Shame! If you're looking for an open-source community platform, don't look at Rocket.Chat. The company behind it is becoming worse and worse. First they paywalled standard functionality, now they silently put people running "community edition" on "enterprise trial" hoping to catch people off-guard and scare them into paying up.

 @unfa@mastodon.social I was sceptical about rocket chat from the very first day. Seems having chosen mattermost instead wasn't such a bad decision after all. They too have an enterprise edition, but the self hosting community edition is fairly powerfull and runs smoothly for us since years.  A friend of my wife called yesterday because a rechargable battery she was charging had burst into flames and she had to put it out with plant soil. Good thing she didn't leave it to charge overnight... FreeMoCap is an open-source, markerless motion capture solution that can work with cheap webcams or pre-recorded and synced multi-cam footage.  Were you actually able to make that thing work? I downloaded and installed it and couldn't make it do anything. Very weird UI: I've never seen a menu item labeled "Control Panel" .

 The global politics are unfortunately affecting open-source audio. Not in a good way. The developer of LSP plug-ins may soon be forced to serve in the Russian army. He's previously expressed his strong stance regarding the war and is definitely not on board. The Linux Studio Plug-ins (LSP) suite is one of the most advanced and high quality. TL;DW: California does a weird thing that's probably more bad than good, US is a lost cause - all hope in EU, Ubisoft seems to have gotten the message, but we're not past 50% signatures yet and the rate is slowing down - we need to spread this message, get our gamer friends to help, but not just them - we're fighting for basic consumer rights. If this non-ownership BS becomes accepted, it will spread to other things.
