@evanwolf It seems that #Mastodon is made for #newsmedia and #newrooms with their own servers, their own writers, and their own curated content without being controlled by a billionaire.

It's about reach.
If/when Mastodon or something else has an equivalent reach then those who care about it will migrate.
For now Mastodon does not have the reach of Twitter.
The technology question is solved. Any media outlet can spin up their own instance but if no one is looking at it, it's a waste of time.
