@Rachelburch gorgeous part of the world. What a lovely shot too, especially with all the flowers out.

Hedgehog antics in my garden last night. European hedgehogs are present in the UK and Europe, although their numbers are dwindling in rural areas. It’s become customary for some people to feed them cat food in Uk gardens.

Mike

@Rachelburch@mastodon.social That's a good idea but how do you stop the local cats eating it instead?

Jock

@Rachelburch awesome critters, hedgehogs. We’re bereft of them in this part of Ireland, when lived in rural Scotland always put out cat food & water
Made them a small swimming pool from a sunken unwanted bathroom sink, and built small houses/sheds/lean-too’s for them (some of my diy efforts were better than others, and every hedgehog’s an architectural critic :))

@Rachelburch Imagine seeing this in a dark forest when you're lost and tired. These kinds of nature features are the source for some of the stories in folklore all around the world. :)

I miss being able to sit in its mossy branches before the pandemic. Love this spot, hope it recovers. We used to take groups of students there.
