@obsidian Do y'all sign the install for #Windows? The #obsidian It would be nice to have the checksums on the download site for verification.

This is probably just a case of trying to install it immediately after release, since I was pretty out of date and jumped on it.

Some weeks ago I remember you asked in general for a browser add-on that can highlight webpages. Not sure if this is the sort of thing you're looking for:

@obsidian awesome, thank you! Like a hacker I've been using Grease Monkey script for this, but it was always a bit of a surprise when it worked

Obsidian 1.7.2 (early access) is now available for desktop and mobile!

Startup time and and memory usage are significantly improved. Note this may cause issues with some plugins. We've published a guide for developers.

Obsidian URI improvements:

- new **clipboard** param to insert the contents of the clipboard
- new **prepend** to add to the top of the file
- **prepend** and **append** will attempt to merge properties
- new **daily** URI action to open or create your daily note

Obsidian

Obsidian 1.7.1 (early access) is now available to Catalyst members for desktop and mobile.

Startup time is significantly faster on mobile. For vaults with 10,000+ notes you can expect to see at least 50% reduction in load time.

Editable page previews and footnotes are also improving quickly. Page previews stay open even if the window loses focus or the command palette appears. Pressing "Esc" instantly closes the page preview while editing.

+ many more small fixes and improvements!

Obsidian

We're continuing to make improvements to load time across configurations. You can help!

Test startup time on your device by going to General β†’ Advanced, to see a breakdown of the app's startup time.

Share your results with us on our Discord channel so we can keep improving πŸ₯°

@obsidian@mas.to ah yea that was one of the things that I didn't like about obsidian on my phone, I ended up keeping it loaded in task switcher all the time to reduce the amount of waits
(my phone is a samsung fold 5)

@obsidian Amazing, looking forward to the faster startup time! One of the few ways Obsidian for mobile is blocking my work flow.

Obsidian 1.6.5 highlights

(Optional) The installer has been updated to use Electron v30.1.2. To upgrade, install visit the Obsidian download page and reinstall Obsidian.
Added "Publish current file" command and menu item to Obsidian Publish.
Fixed toggling checkbox on the last line of a file or callout. If you rely on checklists inside callouts heavily in your vault, you may want to rebuild your metadata cache.
Fixed link autocompletion for headings (via [[#) sometimes generating invalid links.
Improved the overall experience of editing files with inline properties hidden. If properties are hidden in the editor and the Properties core plugin is enabled, any action that attempts to focus the properties will now focus the property in the sidebar.
Fixed issue with app ribbon items getting reordered incorrectly after drag and drop.
Disabling and reenabling plugins no longer causes the position of their ribbon items to be lost.
Added better support for mixed LTR and RTL tables.
When the app is full screen, the maximize button now turns into a "restore" button in the window frame.
Fixed several animation glitches with the sidebars when they are opened and closed.

@obsidian
Q: does it sync the other vaults in the background? (Obsidian sync).
That's the one of the advantages currently of having multiple windows instead of switching like this. #Obsidian

Obsidian

Obsidian Sync now starts at $4 per month with the new Standard plan
obsidian.md/blog/standard-plan

Comparison of Obsidian Sync plans

Sync Standard $4 USD
Per user, per month, billed annually

@obsidian It would make sense to have a $5 plan for 2 vaults, for people that like to have separate work and personal vaults.

Geffrey van der Bos

@obsidian Ooh very nice. If I downsize the humongous pdfs I’ve got syncing I might just get away with under 1 gig. Saving me some good money.

Thank you for this!

Obsidian

With #Obsidian 1.5 we will be deprecating the legacy editor, and continuing to invest in the new editor we launched two years ago. We're making way for exciting new features like table editing coming soon.
