@gamingonlinux Now, off the surface: this does sound like a good change (and it certainly has some good intention behind it), but I feel that going the SMS route is like putting the right foot on the left one and moving with that in place and eventually falling and twisting your ankles... painfully.

I would have initially assumed that Valve encourage other developers to use the built-in Steam Guard Mobile Authenticator tech to circumvent bad build uploads, but SMS spoofing is a thing after all, and I fear the upcoming security implementation would probably end up being ineffective when it comes to needing to subside highly malicious behavior such as this.

This is exciting.

I once briefly played one driving game using Steam's controller (I don't remember what that thing was called). I'd like to see more of that sort of thing. Game interaction should have the option to be more wii-like whenever possible.

@gamingonlinux just fyi valve tagged your issue as "needs retest" so you should probably reply if it's still broken

@gamingonlinux Why do most Linux notebooks come with #intel and #nvidia hardware. Both companies haven't really been very supportive of #foss.
Are the mobile chips of #amd really that much worse?

@gamingonlinux Because the "embrace, extend, extinguish" was harder than they thought. "Microsoft" is the justification for "Zero Trust".

@gamingonlinux more of a horror movie Microsoft zombie trying to eat Linux, when trying survive with the machete and a shotgun. In a block off town called sudo.

@gamingonlinux It's just further confirmation of MS's shift to Azure services as the primary driver of their business model. They're charging you for the VMs, they don't necessarily care what you run on it.

@gamingonlinux Just wanted to say thanks for calling out the online requirement on Tony Hawk via your curator page. If not for that, I probably wouldn't have noticed until it's too late to get a refund. EA was already on my shit list for this stuff in Jedi: Fallen Order, so now I'll watch out for Activision as well. Valve REALLY needs to surface always-online requirements better on the actual store page.

Will have to see if this fixes the online create-a-park mode.

@gamingonlinux I was reading about it this morning and I like the move off of x11. It always felt a bit underwhelming and clunky.

Going to do a server migration hopefully today. Downtime is expected to be minimal. Will keep you posted.

Slightly newer server, with a newer more supported OS to ensure our operation can continue long into the future.

Please pray to the tech gods for it to be smooth.
