@gamingonlinux More like they realized they couldn't defeat their enemy so they formed some kind of alliance

@gamingonlinux Sadly, Windows is still a privacy hell, even more so with their latest service contract. Sending all your private data to AI analyzers and potentially storing the data there or passing it to third parties is such a no-go that I'll never switch back to using Windows. Luckily, with Proton gaming on Linux is now really easy. And I don't have to deal with crappy kernel-level DRM enforcement tools some games use.

@gamingonlinux I guess it's a symptom of moving to a more service-oriented business model. Windows is probably not as important to their bottom line as it once was.

@gamingonlinux I can't help but wonder where Microsoft is going with this new found good will towards Linux. It's hard to believe it's on the up and up.

@gamingonlinux Because the "embrace, extend, extinguish" was harder than they thought. "Microsoft" is the justification for "Zero Trust".

@gamingonlinux more of a horror movie Microsoft zombie trying to eat Linux, when trying survive with the machete and a shotgun. In a block off town called sudo.

@gamingonlinux It's just further confirmation of MS's shift to Azure services as the primary driver of their business model. They're charging you for the VMs, they don't necessarily care what you run on it.
