Since Reddit has now sold out to AI, a reminder if you're into #Linux / #LinuxGaming that Lemmy exists and it's open source.

I'm a mod here too: lemmy.ml/c/linux_gaming@lemmy.

@gamingonlinux OMG, I didn't know it before I see your toot, thanks for the tip. Honestly I never used reddit because I find it cumbersome, weird, not practical to use and still don't get the purpose of it compared to good old forums powered py PHPBB and alternatives.

But maybe I'll try Lemmy if I find it interesting to use.

Ray Of Sunlight

@gamingonlinux tried ro register, didn't got any confirmation

Rassilonian Legate

@gamingonlinux
If they *have* to have it, having it optionally on servers is the only acceptable way imo

DELETED

@gamingonlinux Anti cheat doesn't work well on Linux at all even through Wine/Proton so having it optional is the best route forward

@gamingonlinux some things I'm surprised with that they seem to get it right (trackpads, although terrible position), while other things I'm surprised they get it wrong (I really don't understand the need for a 1920x1200 screen. 800p is great and just more efficient)

@gamingonlinux a little worried about interference between the top left hall effect joystick and the very nearby hall effect trigger. I'm definitely glad they went with hall effect joystick, but the placement is a little concerning.

@gamingonlinux That's cool, more gear. We can fit so many words into the names of these machines.

Rasmus Lindegaard

@gamingonlinux woooo!

Man, maybe we will get a Linux version of the script compiler and not have to do it through wine all the damn time!

Still need to fill up #gamedev and #indiegame stuff to follow here so I can spend less time on Twitter.

Chuck me some follow suggestions so I can keep up with more news and announcements here.

@gamingonlinux single devs or more aggregated information?

@gamingonlinux You can also follow hashtags, if you're up for adding more of a "discovery aspect" to your timeline!

@gamingonlinux I'm an indie game dev who mostly makes games in godot, have worked on some tools for the ecosystem and am in the process of putting together a worker-cooperative.

I'm also coming off hiatus on a economic strategy game so there will be posts about that trickling in.

@gamingonlinux whoah, the price point is impressive, you can get the 32gb ram edition with a 2tb SSD for less than 1600โ‚ฌ ๐Ÿคฏ

@gamingonlinux I would be careful with Manjaro. Have a look at this if you haven't already: manjarno.pages.dev/

SunDancer

@gamingonlinux That game sure has come far since the catastrophic start way back when.

@gamingonlinux Looks like I will need to jump back into NMS for a bit to check out the changes. The Atlas Path choice change is probably what I am most interested in exploring.

Christian Horn

@gamingonlinux Another bundle which humblestore even brings to my attention with an extra email, but which is not offered to people like me who live in #japan ..
I guess the industry just feels like they can get more money out of us here in selling the games one by one.
