Updated article to note Linux may still get an official version. Updates at the bottom.

@gamingonlinux
One of the few games I bounced off not due to gameplay but due to the story/theme. At the time it was released it felt, to me at the time, too smugly self-referential.

Maybe it's time to give it another chance.

@gamingonlinux don't do this to me, I've already spent enough time in SDV, I don't need this :D

@gamingonlinux Yahtzee's Starstruck Vagabond also comes out this week. Similar concept of Stardew in Space but less wholesome.

@gamingonlinux Yeah, took them a LOT of time to acknowledge this.

Although it works wonderfully with Proton, it is still a troublesome experience: Their Kickstarter campaign promised all three desktop platforms, so another Kickstarter promise broken ๐Ÿคจ๐Ÿ˜ž

Woooow. Thereโ€™s so few independent sites left, most major sites are now under the same roof.

@gamingonlinux fuck's sake. I'm really not keen on IGN's approach to editorial (even compared to most of the other publishers).

@gamingonlinux god this is awful. This is most of what is left of the game journalism major companies, and they are all about to just be collapsed.

I'm glad we have a lot more indie groups in this space that are growing fairly rapidly. Skill Up has a small but powerful team working with him, and Second Wind successfully carries on a legacy that the Escapist somehow failed to maintain.

But god this sucks so much. So many of these I used to frequent as a kid, they were my main avenue for game information. I guess it is time to look to the future and leave these behind, most will get shuttered anyways.

@gamingonlinux looks like my yearly $80 premium RPS subscription will not be renewed. Where to spend hard earned money now?

@gamingonlinux I had bad experiences with beta drivers though.

Adam Honse

@gamingonlinux Hopefully there's an AUR package soon. I hope this fixes the flickering and frame pacing issues in games on Optimus laptop configurations. The proprietary driver is basically unusable on my laptop. I'm more excited for #NVK which has already made my laptop way more usable than ever before, but it would be nice to see the proprietary driver being a usable alternative rather than a glitchy mess.

UnsavedTrash

@gamingonlinux I'm free from the flickers. I have nothing I can complain about on Wayland anymore. What am I supposed to blame my skill issues on now?

Rasmus Lindegaard

@gamingonlinux "partly because the publisher backed-out after making them go silent on it for so long" no doubt. In fact it sounds idiotic, they shouldve been building hype around it, not be silent.

Also too bad they had to shut down, very much so, but props for ensuring their game will live on

Damon L. Wakes

@gamingonlinux I've got to give this thing another go. It was fun to pick up even just briefly, but I got the impression it would take longer to get to grips with than I had time for. Now it looks as though there's enough to look forward to that it's probably worth that amount of effort.

@gamingonlinux I love Apico! super excited for this update

Stephen Godwin

@gamingonlinux Discovered APICO via your post. Beeautiful game.

@gamingonlinux Oh boy. Kindom Hearts was my favorite game on PS2
I may have to consider buying them if I can actually play them on Linux

Xarizzar Phantasma (็Ž„)

@gamingonlinux I really wish it was playable on Linux. The Epic version at least, is not. At least not without some really messy workarounds, because some FMVs are in some unknown codec, which does not work on Proton. Of course, SE could change that, but that would make too much sense ๐Ÿ˜•

Sounds like a privacy nightmare. You should consider #Linux ๐Ÿ‘

One day this will type of stuff will end up mandatory, and even if itโ€™s local itโ€™s being fed into an AI. This stuff will get abused.

Have never used Windows. Never will, either.

@gamingonlinux I am so glad I switched to Linux 30 years ago. Microsoft is going wild.
