I am getting a new computer for an elderly and to be able to support it, I'm removing the Windows and want to install a #Linux distro. They have previously used Ubuntu Budgie for about 4 years. Which one of these distros do you suggest for lower maintenance burden in the long run?

I find it amusing and also disturbing that people are rolling out all these Reddit blackout and protest to change a corporate behavior, when proper federated platforms already exist! As if your protests to other mega corps ever helped, or as if they have pinky promised to always stay on your side! Wake up, it is a company with financial motives. Period. Perhaps it is time for you all Reddit users to learn the lesson once and for all‌, and make the move as many already have. Step up for yourself.

@Mehrad yep. corporations dont care about you. a 2 day blackout will not hurt reddit or convince it to be any better or stop it from making money. the only way is to stop using it alltogether and migrate.

@Mehrad@fosstodon.org true. If they do decide to blackout for longer, the admins can just remove the mods and plant their own. The slacktivists might start shitposting non stop as a protest, but they’ll calm down after a couple of weeks, or move elsewhere.

I have a question from :emacs: Emacs gurus, when I use ~python-shell-send-region~ in ~python-mode~, the lines are sent to the pyshell, but are not displayed! In the attached photo I have started emacs with ~-Q~, so no personal config is there, this is vanilla Emacs.

Is there a way to make Emacs to show the sent lines? the same phenomena happes with Ipython as well.
