Gregory's ServerI decided to bite the bullet last night: try to learn how to take photos of the #Aurora
I use lots of settings on my camera, but mostly choosing focus points and adjusting light sensitivity and amount of light- but it's more like choose the effect and camera does the actual settings of aperture and shutter speed! (more in replies)
So- not great quality, but they give some idea. The camera sees much stronger colours than the eye- I toned them down but still not quite true #photography #Alberta

So I had to finally learn how to make real manual settings (Aperture should be this-okay, how do I set aperture? shutterspeed should be--okay, how do I set that? lol)...lol.. in the end I still have more to learn (about the camera and also tripod use!) . The photos I got are not 'good'- I'd like them sharper- a balance between slow shutter speeds that let in more light, and faster to catch the movement. I also need to work in the colour balance-- whenever I get a chance to try again! #Aurora
