Remembered out of nowhere that there is an entire TLD called .frogans, which is reserved for “Frogans sites”

What are Frogans sites? From what I can tell, Frogans is a doomed / cursed project that has been labouring for a decade to pointlessly redesign every web technology, up to and including URLs, so that when you view a Frogans site in the official (still-unreleased) Frogans Player, it will look exactly the same on every device, down to the pixel.

I've owned Starship Titanic for ~20 years but have bounced off of it every time I've tried to play it. Gave it some real attention today, with the help of the Official Strategy Guide which came with it but I never opened out of stubbornness.

It's bad! I was hoping that having direction & puzzle solutions would get me to the good stuff but there isn't really any good stuff! In two hours of play there were a handful of things I kind of smirked at.

In Douglas Adams' books, he tortures his protagonists and it's funny. In his games, you are the protagonist, so he tortures you, and it's obnoxious. Like, a talking bomb that you have to go reset every so often to avoid blowing yourself up would be kind of a conceptually funny idea, when you're not the one having to go reset it.

Playing through Riven for the first time and it’s so good I want to play through all the terrible Myst knockoffs of the 90s

was googling around a bit and stumbled upon a forum thread that I started in 2006 entitled "Why do I have an insatiable hunger for terrible Myst clones?" so I guess I've just always been like this mirrors.glorioustrainwrecks.co

o, what a pitiful shame that we are stuck with Javascript as the lingua franca of the web, all of its many dangerous warts and pitfalls an indelible stain on the platform

now to take a big sip of coffee as I ponder the timeless beauty of the Unix way, with its elegant lingua franca, shell scripts
