There was a temporary problem on OVH Object Storage https://public-cloud.status-ovhcloud.com/incidents/jl8l3t134x07 that caused the instances on Masto.host to become slow or unresponsive. The issue is starting to clear and it should all be working normally now. Sorry for the inconvenience and if you notice any issues, please let me know. Thanks π

Currently there is an issue on Let's Encrypt that is causing a failure to generate new TLS certificates: https://letsencrypt.status.io/ So, the installation of new Mastodon servers on Masto.host will take longer than usual Sorry for the inconvenience.

Currently Masto.host is experiencing the highest volume of traffic that has ever reached the infrastructure. The service is partially degraded and I will be doing fast upgrades on the platform. These can lead to partial downtime, errors and large delays in support requests. Really sorry. Doing the best I can on my end. Hope you understand. Thanks.

ohhh, that good sweet thought of "my bot that I wrote to make constant backups of my profile feed will break completely because it works by scraping the static HTML, which Mastodon nuked in the new version" π

Currently there is an issue on the Masto.host network. I'm investigating and will provide more information as soon as possible.

So, what happened was that one of the web servers (host 2) was struggling and I decided to upgrade it like I did yesterday for (host 1): https://mastodon.social/@mastohost/109292313550726464 Yesterday it was really smooth and the upgrade to the cloud instance only caused 90 seconds of downtime. Today, everything went wrong:

@mastohost ahhhhh it was OVH! now I understand! I was so confused cause this instance was down but also sunbeam.city and I was like how are they both down at the same time!

@mastohost fair. Thanks a lot for the work ! So it is possible to export (migrate) an instance from your service ? This could be really interesting for me (and my colleagues). What is the format of this export ? Or maybe it's documented somewhere... |
