I have become deeply cynical about the claims any company makes regarding "We'll never share your data", even when they convince me that they're not doing it now and have no plans to.

The people in charge change; they're humans, they have lives. And for companies, selling data is a permanent ethical slope. Hard to climb, and so very, very easy to wander down.

Doesn't mean I won't hear the pitch. Just means I'd want to see "Here's how we rigged it so that selling data blows up the company".
