Of all browsers, only Safari on Mac doesn't support <input type="date">. This makes me sad, and it feels like the new IE — Safari is also the only reason why I have to keep jpeg images around.
The best way to see the sites, my ass.

This thing now works as you would expect any post form to work. And best of all, it doesn't lose your post text in the process! TIL that you can add an auto-increment column in MySQL to an existing table, and it will give sequential ids to all existing rows. Small #Smithereen notifications update. #Smithereen update. Notifications are ready. The unread counter in the menu updates (with each page reload), pagination works, and post deletion removes any notifications related to that post. #Smithereen update. Notifications kinda sorta work so this thing is now actually usable as an #ActivityPub server beyond experimentation. Not pushing to github yet because of the essential things not yet implemented: unread notifications, counter for those in the left menu, and pagination. #smithereen update. Changed the HTML sanitizer library and made new rules that keep CSS classes/h-card microformat Mastodon users. This library can also act as an HTML parser that makes scraping easy — will come in handy (much) later whenever I'll get to embeds and previews. Is there somewhere a complete list of those microformat CSS classes that mastodon uses in the toot content? I need it to configure my HTML sanitizer correctly. An idea for #Smithereen for the future, when I have any blocking functionality at all: allow users override server-wide domain blocks. In other words, if the server admin blocks a domain, you'll have the ability to unblock it just for yourself or for a group you manage. Смотрите какое, выглядит правдоподобно. Видимо, моя тактика относительного пофигизма по отношению к коронавирусу всё-таки верна. This whole coronavirus thing feels like a poorly made horror movie. Except a movie is usually 1.5 hours, and this has been going on for 2 months now and shows no signs of stopping.

#Smithereen update. Added support for that webfinger domain redirection XML thing (https://gould.cx/ted/blog/2018/01/29/Jekyll-and-Mastodon/). @liaizon uses this setup on his mastodon instance and you couldn't mention him before. Now you can. |
Interestingly, iOS Safari does support it (but still doesn't support webp)
