 @outfrost Also my experience. I feel like we got to parity in the mid-90s but Windows pulled ahead from AC97 to probably about Windows Vista, and it's been downhill for Windows since. Trying to get Windows to do anything video, audio or Bluetooth is a major pain in the ass if Microsoft didn't think to provide support for it 25 years ago. @MarkRuffalo Got a website? Was at Reasor's and got stuck in front of a Karen who loudly complained about only three checkstands open, then started mouthing off about how breathing in a mask is bad for you and that the whole thing is not worse than the flu. I turned around and loudly said, "Have you ever stopped and listened to yourself, then said, 'Wow, I really am an ignorant, selfish bitch?' Or do you lack that level of introspection and self-awareness?" I blame billionaires like Zuckerberg and Dorsey, for weaponizing social media, allowing paid trolls to spread disinformation and create legions of brain-fried fascists, who perpetuate Trump's stochastic terrorism. Then I blame all the rest of us, for allowing this to happen, and never creating non-toxic alternatives to Twitter and Facebook. Mastodon is unworkable. Search functions are ridiculous. There's no way for new arrivals to meet anyone here. What a mess. |
