It's one of the world's most low-cost space programs that has been so far successful, proving that good engineering sometimes can beat the cost.  @ZySoua also worth noting: 1. anime as we know it was strongly inspired by american animation of the early 20th century 2. there is actually a whole idea of "mukokuseki", when japanese characters in anime are drawn "neutrally" and these two also apply to characters and shows which don't use the "cute" aesthetic  Some bug just hit me in the ear and continued to glide on the ground and crawl somewhere.
