i’m genuinely & passionately supporting england in the football for the first time in my life. you’d think they’d score a goal, for me the other day I went on a date with a woman from China who hasn’t been in the UK long and I asked where in China she’s from and she said it’s an area called Szechuan you probably don’t know it and I said oh like the sauce and she said yes how do you know about Szechuan sauce though and then I had to explain the fucking rick and morty thing and now I think she thinks coming to the West was a mistake can hard sci fi be frock? trying to work out if a hard-soft, gun-frock political compass makes sense or if they’re just parallel concepts. something like hitchhikers guide is soft & frock. there’s plenty of hard sci-fi that’s gun (e.g. cixin liu) and soft that’s gun too (most space operas) but hard and frock?? tricky if microsoft word tells me not to use the passive voice one more time, it will be harmed by me last night I watched The Mummy (1999) and tonight I think I am going to watch The Mummy (1999) question for German speaksers: what is the difference between a Burg and a Schloss? Is it comparable to the distinction between a castle and a palace in English? e.g. image 1 below is a castle, as is image 2 (though less so); image 3 is a palace |
