Tell me you don’t understand how tables work without telling me you don’t understand how tables work

@nikitonsky ui/ux design nowadays seem to me mostly like cargo cult, everbody following the same „design rules“ that mostly don‘t seem to have any reason @nikitonsky Tables are a way of presenting arrays of uniform data, usually for easier searching or comparison. The table in the left pic is used to display the properties of a single entity; it is basically just a set of labeled values. There's no reason to present this data in a tabular format. To me, the right pic is clearly better. It can be made even better by removing most of the labels, since the values like "coupe" or "3.6 liter V8" are pretty self-descriptive. Look ma! It’s Virtual DOM! Purple outline for components that are recreated, the rest is reused, keeping their identity stable. Seems to work fine! Code implementing the app above. Global state, local state, diffing, keys, functional components, even use-state :) Computers go fast! In the world of misinformation, we decided to go for the hard truth. YouTube is making Firefox users wait 5 seconds before video loads for no reason https://www.reddit.com/r/firefox/comments/17ywbjj/comment/k9w3ei4/ @nikitonsky recently I started opening YouTube links in IINA. What a refreshing experience. Watching videos just like twenty years ago @nikitonsky looking forward to listening to this one. Richard is a great interviewer. Every single episode of this show has been a pleasure to listen to. At this point, is anyone even surprised? It was so clearly going it this direction for so long. Google is an ad company, not a browser company and not a search engine company. Would be stupid for them to allow ad blockers that actually work https://www.reddit.com/r/uBlockOrigin/comments/17wu2gz/google_confirms_they_will_disable_ublock_origin/ @nikitonsky I’m not in the context of plugin’s development, so my question is what’s the connection between migrating from V2 to V3 manifestation and uBlock not able to work anymore? As far as I understand, Google’s cutting off some API previously used by uBlock, right? But what stops uBlock’s developers from migrating to this new V3 manifest?

Launching a game is getting closer to opening a website. Two unwarranted, unneeded popups already! A bit more guesswork than I expected from the hype/marketing, and few serious questions about UI, but once you get over that, very enjoyable experience.
