Elon's "bot" problem is just gaslighting.

To fix "bots", you ban them.

He's convinced the bots were using APIs and web services and he spent a ton of effort there doing nothing and solving nothing.

Elon, screwing up your API did nothing.

These "bot farms" - They're using low paid people (mechanical turks) or are nation state groups of paid people and they're super easy to recognize because their accounts are trash.

Here on Mastodon, people are reporting these trash accounts and we mastodon admins seem to care enough to do something about it rather than gaslighting it all away. I know this trash was reported on twitter and nothing happened.

It's too bad the same playbook to ruin twitter seems to be the playbook to ruin everything else... (send trash to government, and blame government... send trash to schools... blame schools... send trash to work? well.. blame the workers)

The bot problem twitter has is they're dependent on it and getting rid of bots would fundamentally change twitter - perhaps breaking it.
