Tennessee update: On this #Caturday I'm so very happy to report that he's finally eating — just a tiny bit, but he's eating from his food bowl. And he's eaten some of the freeze-dried salmon treats I left out in places where I normally leave treats. He's also hanging out in his normal spots and doing some cuddling, too — acting pretty close to his normal self, if a bit skittish. He's still getting kitty opioids for pain and I'll be giving him an appetite stimulant in a bit.

(Oh, OK, let's be real — every day is for appreciating Tennessee.) #CatsOfMastodon I rarely get a photo of Tennessee that's suitable for #TongueOutTuesday, but here he is with a big yawn! #CatsOfMastodon Visiting skinny cat, having eaten, poses for a #WhiskersWednesday photo — with a bonus blep. #CatsOfMastodon My neighbor and I have taken to feeding this visiting cat because she is so skinny and so hungry — she gobbles down whatever wet food you give her. (She'll eat kibble, but she definitely prefers the wet stuff.) But she's also extremely friendly and loves to be petted. Has a soft but lovely purr. Too friendly to be a feral and seemingly too skinny to have a home. It's a mystery. Maybe if she keeps hanging around I'll take her to the vet to see if she's chipped. Because it's still #Caturday here in California and it doesn't feel like Caturday if I don't post a photo of Tennessee (even if I posted one of Moonshadow) — here's Tennessee. #CatsOfMastodon I hear that August 17 is Black Cat Appreciation Day, so here's my Moonshadow (RIP) looking out the sliding glass door. I love this photo, even though you can't see his face. Interestingly, Tennessee adores this cat bed, too, which remains in the same place. Here's Tennessee, very unhappy that I decided to enter my office while he was there. He's super affectionate in my bedroom, but scared to share a room with me anywhere else. Go figure! #Caturday #CatsOfMastodon I just learned that it's International Cat Day. To celebrate, here's Tennessee with his favorite toy — a pipe cleaner. He gets especially excited to play when I put a tiny bit of catnip in the scratcher. #CatsOfMastodon It's #WhiskersWednesday again!
