I'm not a "Linux Guy" really but I started re-evaluating it lately, and I think it might not just be for the Tech Weirdos anymore. It can absolutely be a daily driver for a lot of game developers now!

@brody As somebody who has used both the windows and linux releases of the Unity editor across multiple versions, I have to disagree a little with the sentiment of it working about as well as in Windows as I encountered *so* many stability issues as well as instances where sometimes the editor simply wouldn't launch

@brody I switched to Linux 11 years ago, with a dual boot computer so that I could still run games on Windows if I just really couldn't get one to work on Linux.
Pretty much never actually used that.

Installing and configuring Linux on a new computer now is so much easier than it was back then. And even in 2013 I manged quite easily with no existing experience or anyone to help me.
Now it's just plugging a USB stick with a live image in and clicking the installer.

@brody a small contribution to the software list: Substance Painter works natively on Linux!
