Ripple is at, like, peak happiness here

The single best photo I have ever taken of Shadow, when I was trying to get a reference photo of cradling a cat for a drawing. Why does he look like bad taxidermy. Buddy what’s going on. Help doctor, my large son, he’s very sick

I’m taking a mirror selfie in a bathroom mirror. I’m trying to cradle my black cat Shadow in my arms but instead he’s holding himself stock straight with his legs straight out and he’s looking up at an angle with his eyes open incredibly wide and frozen. I have my hair pulled back and I’m wearing my old rectangular framed glasses and I’m pursing my lips to keep from laughing and ruining the shot. I cannot overstate how much he looks like bad taxidermy here. A living cat should not look this wooden and awkward. It also really showcases how huge he is, he’s inches longer than my shoulders are broad not including his leggies

I didn’t think I’d put ornaments up this year because I just didn’t have the energy but I thought “I’ll just put some of the birds up and that will feel nice” and half an hour later I’m putting everything up haha
