Im März haben wir auf den Färöern nicht so viele Tiere gesehen, außer Schafe natürlich. Der Eissturmvogel ist ein Hochseevogel der zur Brutzeit an Land kommt und eine Kolonie haben wir zufällig bei einer kleinen Wanderung entdeckt.

In March we didn't see many animals on the Faroe Islands, except for sheep of course. The fulmar is a seabird that comes ashore during the breeding season and we discovered a colony by chance during a short hike.

Durch den unberührten Schnee stapften wir zu diesem fantastischen Ausblick über den Fjord und genossen den Ausblick und das Fotografieren während uns der eiskalte Wind um die Ohren pfiff. Definitiv einer meiner Lieblingsmomente auf den Färöern.

We trudged through the untouched snow to this fantastic view over the fjord and enjoyed the view and taking photos while the freezing wind whistled around our ears. Definitely one of my favourite moments in the Faroe Islands.

Auf den Färöern gibt es einige Häuser mit Grasdächern. Diese sind nicht nur ein beliebtes Fotomotiv, sondern auch sehr nützlich. So absorbieren sie Regenwasser, sparen im Winter Heizkosten und im Sommer die Kosten der Klimaanlage.

There are some houses with grass roofs in the Faroe Islands. These are not only a popular photo motif, but also very useful. They absorb rainwater, save heating costs in winter and air conditioning costs in summer.
