@BathysphereHat Transphobic people will unfortunately respond that it foesn't matter and that trans people deserve to be depressed for trying to be of a gender other than the one assigned at birth 😞  @BathysphereHat I think I said something similar to @hackermatic when she came out to me almost a decade ago. It does. We just don't talk about it very much. Because people don't like to believe us. There was a study, and it's actually pretty equal in the hate-crime ratio for transfem and transmasc. The reason it's not talked about very much is because transmen especially feel ashamed if it happens to us. Like "less of a man" if we talk about it. So it goes unreported. Which is so sad. One time, when I was a kid, I went to my friend's house and kissed her cat, and my friend was like "Ewww, you kissed the cat?" Fucked up behaviour on her part tbh. The idea that fat people can't be raped is not only disgustingly fatphobic, it also shows a fundamentally misunderstanding of what rape is about. Rape is not about having sex with someone you're attracted to. It's about power. It's about violence. It's about hurting someone. |
