There is a citizens initiative for achieving a ban on all LGBTQ+ targeted conversion therapy practices across all member states of the European Union. However for this initiative to progress, there is a requirement for **1 million** signatures in order for the commission bring it before the EU parliament for debate. The collection period for signatures ends 17 May 2025.
To support a European Citizen's Initiative, you need to meet the following criteria:
- You need to be an EU national
- You must be old enough to vote in European Parliament elections (18 in most countries but some lowered the age to 16 for ECIs as shown in the following: https://citizens-initiative.europa.eu/data-requirements_en
