On Sunday, we will have our second meetup about #NLP in #Clojure.

This time, @CarstenBehring will demonstrate solving a classification problem using a #DVC pipeline with #Clojure and #Python.

#Clojure teaches a great many principles of code quality and manageable system design; half the boot "Pragmatic Programmer" is already idiomatic. I love to use Clojure to learn other things. With shock I realize that WordPress is not this way; looks like it will teach bad habits of system design and code usage. #WordPress has many qualities, but "learning to do things the right way" is not one of them.

@worldsendless Do you mind giving some examples of what is wrong with WordPress design?

A fun thread addressing someone's fears that #Clojure devs get pigeonholed. TL;DR: no, but they do get spoiled.

The power of regexps and emacs. Turn copy-pasted strings into #clojure data-structures of three items. This would be much harder without lisp syntax.

Quora sent me an "interesting question."

"Is Linux dead? Why?"

I'm not even bothering to read that clickbait. Are some questions stupid? Actually, yes. Clickbait questions are stupid.

@worldsendless it's in an odd place. linux foundation consists primarily of big tech vultures and soyviets. there is .. maybe valve who is pushing some stuff for the desktop. indirectly.

Read this article in reader mode, as it is itself smothered in ads top and bottom. But the point is, Google sells massive amounts of personal data as kind of a public secret; the worst part is that they lead you to think it is actually for your good and service that they do it. It goes to the point that privacy -- owning your own data -- is increasingly expensive
