Or maybe Linda Sejic ... it looks about halfway between both their styles.   A few days ago, I came across an interesting sight. When I went to fill the bird feeder I have found that a sparrow had somehow managed to get into the bird feeder hopper. It tried to crawl out through the little opening where the seed comes out and got stuck. I took the feeder apart and as soon as it was free, it flew away. I thought it was odd, worried about it happening again but did not think about it again. This morning I went to fill the feeder and found another bird trapped in the feeder. Possibly the same bird. Its head was trapped like the previous one. I took the feeder apart but it didn't fly away. That's when I noticed how injured it was. Part of its face was bloodied and possibly gone including an eye. It had at least one wing broken and I think possibly a broken neck. The worst part was it was still alive.  |
